Cally Festival 2021 Participatory Design

In partnership with Islington Play and the 2021 Cally Festival we coordinated a collaborative design and community implementation scheme. Children from the local estate and Islington Play group submitted hand drawn designs which we then translated into an outline for the community to come and help paint.

The intervention was a way for local residents and children to leave their own unique mark in their neighbourhood and leave encouraging words and designs to be displayed proudly during Cally Fest! The scheme linked to a recently traffic calmed street, Freeling Street, which was part of making the space more pedestrian friendly and inviting.
