In response to the first wave of Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns in London we took action to reclaim road space from cars outside of a grocery store on Hackney Road. We used old tyres as planters to demarcate the space and painted in the carriageway. We installed positive signage to encourage local residents to use the space to safely walk, wheel and socialise at a distance.
